The good: I think that the main point of the she does not abort her baby. This is why I rated the book as high as I did.

However, this book could have been much better. it was easy to see from the start that her marriage problems were as much her fault as they were her husband's fault. They neither had meaningful discussions. Why didn't they discuss these matters before they got married? It was continually pointed out that his parents controlled him, but I think that her mother and sister also controlled her. For example, they keep forcefully telling her that they never liked her husband, even before the baby's health issues were revealed.

An even bigger problem from my POV is that this was listed in a religious/ Christian category. Yet, Jesus and the Bible are never mentioned. The only church services mentioned are funerals and weddings. They never contact a pastor. She only prays once and that was before she found out about the baby's health issue.

I did not like the ending. Her husband repented and made quite significant changes in his life to prove his love for her. If she had truly loved him, as she claimed, then at a minimum she should have gone to professional counseling with him to see if those were long term, heart felt changes.

GREAT story. Easy read, Author has an easy style I enjoyed. I would recommend this book. And I do not like long reviews.
So appreciate sweet romances that are. Love the book, the writing, and the story, and the fact it was clean.
This was a great book. The story was very realistic but still engaging. There are lots of emotions in this book as the characters deal with different feelings surrounding really hard life circumstances and choices. Despite this, the book isn't really heavy. It is a clean and thoughtful read. I would recommend it to anyone.
While the story has flaws as other reviewers have mentioned, I enjoyed it nevertheless. I liked how the writer tied adoption experiences and the Holocaust in with Joseph's story.
I have a special place in my heart for books that deal with issues faced when having a handicapped child. I really liked Rebecca Talley’s previous book, The Up Side of Down, which looks at how a Down Syndrome child can change and challenge the family dynamics, but also bring a huge dose of love. I would have to see more of that in this book.

If you’re looking for a romance where there’s a good guy at the end who steps up and loves Lauren and her child for exactly who they are without expectations and/or pressures to be perfect, then this is a sweet story about learning to love again. On that basis, I’d give it 4 stars.
I received this e-book free from and I am voluntarily writing a review. After trying to get pregnant for two years Lauren finds out she is finally going to have a baby. This is when life smacks her in the face that her marriage has been less than desired for a while and she spends more time alone than with her husband. Lauren and her husband Paul find out that their baby has Down's Syndrome and her husband wants her to abort or he is going to divorce her.
This is a great uplifting story of triumph over lifes curve balls. Our life stories don't always go exactly like we have planned, but they can end up being even more spectacular than we had ever hoped. This story shows that love is not conditional. It also shows that every single person is special and wonderful! Our love for others is what makes life full of joy and happiness! I found myself reading till late hours of the night because I was so enthralled in this inspiring story. I have one daughter who read this book in one day. She didn't want to do anything else, because she just couldn't put it down. I now have 3 other daughters reading it and enjoying it just as much. It is a wonderful and inspiring story, one that leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart.
